WHAT: Joe Fresh Top (old) | Abercrombie Jeans | Quay Sunglasses
WHERE: Hanging around the house, running errands, and taking the dog for a walk.
WHY: I'll be perfectly honest, I was only in this actual outfit for about an hour. After a gorgeous Saturday and Sunday, Labor Day was all rain all the time. We found what we thought was a break in the rain to run an errand and take the dog for a walk but about 10 minutes in it started down pouring. So, by the time we got home I was soaked from the knees down and pretty damp everywhere else. I changed into comfy clothes and that's how I spent the rest of the holiday weekend!
WHAT: Fat Face T-shirt (old) 3/4 sleeve version here | Banana Republic Pants (old) | Hermes Sandals |
WHERE: Worked from home
WHY: Even though I work from home I try to put together outfits each day so I feel like I'm actually going to work. But at the same time I want to be comfortable. These pants are a couple years old but still are a great alternative to jeans. And you can't go wrong with a simple white t-shirt.
WHAT: Tibi Dress (old) | Dolce Vita Sandals | J. Crew Belt (old) | STAUD Bag | Celine Sunglasses
WHERE: Went in to Manhattan for a preview and then to lunch with a friend.
WHY: It was a hot and humid day so I opted for something easy, and to me there's nothing as easy as a sundress. I've worn this dress before without the belt but decided to add one to create a more put together look. I went in to Manhattan to see the Lafayette 148 Spring/Summer 2020 preview and I can say with confidence that I want every single piece. It was all about neutrals so I blended in well with my black and white look.
WHAT: Abercrombie Jeans | VETTA Top | Hermes Sandals | Modern Picnic Bag | Burberry Sunglasses | Missoma London Necklace
WHERE: Worked from home in the morning then ran around Manhattan for an appointment and errands in the afternoon.
WHY: You probably recognize these jeans by now because I still love them. Fitted around the hip and thigh with a relaxed straight leg is totally my style these days. I also love the simple look of jeans and a white top. This top can be worn either this way or with the buttons in back. I wanted to be comfortable but also polished and this look did the trick.
WHAT: The Fifth Label Dress (old) similar here | Old Navy Denim Jacket | STAUD Bag | Hermes Sandals | Monica Vinader Bracelet | Missoma London Necklace | Missoma London Necklace | Quay Sunglasses
WHERE: Worked from home and got out for a couple appointments in the afternoon.
WHY: This dress is incredibly comfortable and looks more dressed up than it feels. I mainly worked from home on Friday but did need to get out for an appointment, so I wanted to be comfy but put together. It was also a tad chilly, so the denim jacket was perfect and super easy to throw on.
WHAT: Gap Dress (sold out) | Lucky Brand Sandals | Missoma London Necklace | Quay Sunglasses
WHERE: A neighborhood block party.
WHY: We've finally found a slice of New York City that is truly a neighborhood. For the first time Marc and I got to experience an actual block party! it may not sound like a big deal, but after living in high rises and large apartment buildings for eight years it was so nice to have a sense of community where we live. It was a beautiful day with temps in the mid 70s so this light maxi dress was perfect. Oxford came with us for a few minutes but all the excitement proved to be a bit too much for him, so he spent the rest of the afternoon holding down the fort in our apartment.
WHAT: H&M Camisole (old) | DL1961 Jeans | Sam Edelman sandals (old) | Janessa Leone Hat | Quay Sunglasses
WHERE: A long walk around Brooklyn with the dog.
WHY: It was a lazy Sunday (which sounds pretty familiar for us!). We took the dog for a long walk through Brooklyn and down to the East River. It's that weird time of year where the temperatures may creep into the 80s but it doesn't feel like the 80s in July. That's how I got away with wearing jeans. Which I couldn't even think of putting on in July! The fact that these are wide leg and not clinging to my legs also helps in the warmer weather. I'm still not quite ready to put on a pair of skinny jeans just yet.
