This week was a bit of a whirlwind. I began the week in New York City and ended it in Minnesota as I returned back home to help my parents with my dad's final round of chemo. But the start was a little chaotic. So chaotic that I never took a picture of what I wore on Monday and I can not for the life of me even remember what it was!
As a result, let's pick up with Tuesday, shall we?
WHAT: Abercrombie jeans, Naadam Cardigan, J. Crew Factory T-Shirt, Anthropologie Headband (sold out)
WHERE: Worked from home and had two remote meetings.
WHY: Tuesday was a busy day with two important meetings and a lot of work to tackle. But because the meetings were over the phone and video conferencing, I didn't actually have to leave the house. So, I didn't actually wear shoes, other than when I took the dog for a walk. I've said it before and I'll say it again, there are perks to working from home!
WHAT: Veronica Beard Blazer, J. Crew Jeans, J. Crew Bodysuit (old), Zara Mules (old), Celine sunglasses, Camelia Roma Bag
WHERE: Attended a preview event and had an appointment in Manhattan in the morning and then worked from home in the afternoon.
WHY: I bought this Veronica Beard blazer in the spring and have been so excited to wear it again now that the temperatures have dropped. I wanted to look polished but casual as I ran into Manhattan in the morning, and adding a structured blazer is the perfect way to achieve that.
WHAT: Who What Wear Collection skirt (old), Mackage leather jacket (old), Keepsake top, Jimmy Choo boots (sample sale find), Clare V. bag
WHERE: An event to celebrate the new Lafayette 148 townhouse on the Upper East Side.
WHY: You can never go wrong with a pop of leopard and this skirt from last season still holds up.
WHAT: Goodnight Macaroon Sweater, DL1961 jeans, Banana Republic shoes (old), Joe Fresh turtleneck (old), Monica Vinader necklace, Quay sunglasses
WHERE: Worked from home and ran errands before leaving for Minnesota the next day.
WHY: This was a very casual day with a lot to do. I ran errands and wrapped up as much work as I could ahead of my trip to Minnesota. I went for a causal and comfortable look and grabbed my handy The Life Actually Company™ tote to hold everything I needed.
WHAT: ASTR coat, Abercrombie jeans, Uniqlo sweater (old), Uniqlo Shirt, Coach loafers (old), Monica Vinader necklace, Monica Vinader bracelet
WHERE: Flew home to Minnesota to help my parents with my dad's final round of chemo.
WHY: I've been subscribed to the idea of dressing casually to travel. I can't imagine getting on an airplane in sweats, but that's just me. I prefer to wear actual pants. And an actual outfit.
WHAT: ASTR coat, Abercrombie jeans, Old Navy sweatshirt, J. Crew Factory t-shirt, Monica Vinader necklace, Tory Burch bag (old), Nike shoes (old), Quay sunglasses
WHERE: Hung out around the house and wandered around an outdoor mall in the afternoon.
WHY: We spent most of the day at home with my dad as he recovers from chemo. But in the afternoon my mom and I took a little break and walked around an outdoor outlet mall not too far from our house. It was a beautiful fall afternoon, of which we took full advantage before the temperatures plummeted the next day.
WHAT: J. Crew jeans, Banana Republic sweater (old), Uniqlo turtleneck, J. Crew Factory Scarf
WHERE: I didn't leave the house once except to take this photo on our deck.
WHY: It was a quiet day for all of us and I didn't even leave the house, other than to take this picture. But that didn't require shoes, so I never actually wore any! And it was cold so I used this scarf as a shawl for most of the afternoon. I may have grown up in Minnesota but I've become a total wimp in the cold.
